"lesue" Alan Jackson to Wuruma Dam

We will try and do a little catch up for the year. Our next venture was down to Brisbane to see the Alan Jackson concert, took the van and stayed at the Aspley caravan park, the Jackson show was awesome a bit loud for me but still a brilliant show the next day we drove up to Kilkivan bush camp a really relaxing place at the fork of two creeks, most of the camp went under in the floods and they had just reopened for business
Next stop was Wuruma Dam just north of Idsvold its about 25km off the Burnett Highway, it is a free camp limited facilities most camp spots are right beside the water edge. We came when the dam was at its lowest a few years back and  now was the chance to see it full in fact it has been running over the spill way for 8 weeks now since the big rain. Wuruma Dam was constructed across the Nogo River in the upper Burnett River Catchment for irrigation & town water supply for Eidsvold, Mundubbera and Gayndah in 1966 not long after opening it was full then it was decided to let most of the water go to irrigation apparently the floods of 2011 was the next time that water went over the spillway it will be interesting to see how long this lot of water lasts
The shot below is of 7 Kookaburras sleeping together above our van
